Harlem Restaurant and Retail Week!

It's Harlem Restaurant and Retail Week! Put on by Harlem Park to Park, an organization committed to preserving culture and to promoting small businesses and community development in Central Harlem!

It starts this Saturday August 15th and runs through August 31st. Restaurants like 67 Orange Street, Chez Lucienne, Chacolat Restaurant and Lounge, Harlem Shake, Red Rooster Harlem, Sylvia's, Heights Tavern, and Harlem Tavern are just a few places that I'll mention. It'll be a great weekend to get out and enjoy some of the best that Harlem has to offer. I know I'll be stopping by Heights Tavern for a cold one and to visit my friend Kenya who works there as one of Harlem's greatest bartenders. (I may be a little biased on that last comment) Ask for him, he'll take good care of you. While there I'm going to grab some wings and watch some baseball, it is one of the best sports bars in the neighborhood. However, the Cedar Plank Salmon is delicious so who knows maybe I'll be staying for dinner. 
 
These great restaurants are all offering special deals and prix fixe menus for you to take advantage of.
 
Don't forget the second half of the title...Retail Week! You can spend that hard earned cash at some great places such as Harlem Yoga Studio where they're offering a class for just $10.15. Go ahead and get your breathing on! Namaste! Or stop by Double Dutch Espresso for a mug and some retail coffee! Harlem Heirloom, Lady Lexis Sweets and plenty more places are offering up special deals celebrating a great neighborhood. 
 
This is Harlem and there's more to do here than you know. With new businesses coming in all the time, you need to make sure you're keeping up. Get out and explore, get out and have some fun. It's good for the community and more importantly it's good for you.
